Below is an indication of the range of
small tourist and visitor focused websites we have done.
They are typically small sites, but very
personalised and designed with the target market and their needs and expectations in mind.
Southern Exposure - http://www.southern-exposure.co.nz
Southern Exposure have provided guided
kayak trips in the Abel Tasman for the last 8 years. They recently extended their business
into backpackers and water taxi service and so wanted a new website that reflected their
diversity.
The kayak tour business is a competitive
one, so their site needed to be slick, quick (for all those tourists in internet cafés),
and full of tempting photos and good information, but it also had to press home their
difference.
Earthtalk@Awhitu - http://www.earthtalk.co.nz
Charmaine Pountney and Tanya Cumberland
have developed an organic haven on the Awhitu Peninsula, south west of Auckland. They
offer visits and tours, as well as accommodation, so wanted a website that gave enticing
information, reinforced their distinctive branding and reflected their ethos.
We used complementary shades of green to
reiterate the organic ethos, and curved bands to reflect the rolling hills that had been
stylised in the logo.
South Sea Mermaid Tours
- http://www.southseamermaids.co.nz
"Journeys for the Spirited
Woman" - what does that conjure up? Have a look and let us know if we've got it
right or not!
Christchurch-based South Sea Mermaids
offer guided tours for women of the entire South Island. As it was a new business we
had a fairly blank canvas design-wise.
Liz gave us a range of stunning
photographs from earlier tours and a theme - mermaids - that we knew we could have a laugh
with! Great!
Cathedral Inn - http://www.cathedralinn.co.nz
Lesley and Peter Cavanagh run The
Cathedral Inn, up-market bed and breakfast accommodation in central Nelson.
They wanted a website that was bright and
stood out as being different, as the Cathedral Inn does, but also gave good information
about the Inn and the Nelson region in general.
As a result we used vibrant colours and
incorporated a circular design feature from entrance of the Inn itself.
Blue Mountain Rodeo Tours - http://www.bluemountains.co.nz
Kevin and Molly have discovered a niche
market. They are rodeo enthusiasts (to put it mildly) and travel and compete on the rodeo
circuit throughout New Zealand.
They know rodeo people, and know that
when a rodeo fan goes on holiday there's nothing more they'd like to do than - yes -
rodeo! So Kevin and Molly provide transport, accommodation, organisation and even
specially trained rodeo quarterhorses for NZ events.
They wanted a site that told viewers
about Blue Mountain, gave information about the rodeo scene in New Zealand, and reflected
the warmth and friendliness they're all about.
